Oak and Poppy Botanical is the spiritual side hustle of an Elder Millennial spell caster with over 25 years of experience (and experimentation) in spells and charms for personal growth and spiritual wellness. As a science- and skeptic-aligned witch (SASS witchcraft), my practice is primarily for my own well-being and spiritual development. These practices are in support of other, more mundane, means to the same goal. I take my meds and brush my teeth – but add a little dash of whimsy, a pinch of weird and a splash of joy.
Magic is a tool, not a superpower. Everyone has access to it, but some of us struggle to harness it. The spells and charms from Oak and Poppy Botanical are intended to help you jump start your magical practice, fill a gap, or support you in your goals. They are not a replacement for appropriate medical or spiritual care. For that you need a trained professional. That’s not me! But I fully support it and will light a candle for you on your journey.
Pocket spells and charms
What are pocket spells, anyway?! They’re discrete little spell kits that have everything you need to cast a spell on the spot, whenever and where-ever. Each pocket spell contains the ingredients for a single, one-off spell in a tidy, unobtrusive tin. Great for the witch on-the-go or still in the broom closet, these tiny spells pack a big punch.
Charms are generally static items that have already been charged and work passively. They may be cleansed and recharged as needed.
Familiars and other staff

Angela. Lead Spell Caster. Recovering archaeologist and 30 year veteran witch. I got my start after a strange trip to Salem, Mass at the impressionable age of 14 and spent a day wandering the historical buildings and reading Nathaniel Hawthorne. Imagine my surprise, confusion and delight upon discovering that the Witch Museum was, in fact, about new witches, not the witch trials. Dragons and druids and cauldrons, oh my! I bought a copy of Scott Cunnigham’s Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner in the gift shop and devoured it on the flight back home to California. Since then, I’ve wandered through various iterations of religious expression, including Wicca, Western Buddhism, and most recently a sort of eclectic Heathenry. Although I’m a polytheist, I believe that anyone, including the staunchest Dawkinsian atheist can access and use the tools of magic and witchcraft to improve their lives. We bio-hack our bodies through diet and medicine, why not also hack your brain and heart through the magic of play and belief?
Okay, serious business is over. Wanna meet the familiars?
